Avoid gift card scams
Stay safe while using On Me
If someone pressures you to send them an On Me gift card in exchange for money, products, services, or favors, don’t do it. Report this activity to support@onme.com right away.
Here are some scam scenarios to watch out for:
- Impersonation scams: A scammer pretends to be your coworker, boss, or another trusted contact and urgently asks you to buy gift cards for them.
- Payment scams: Someone says you need to pay a bill or fee using gift cards. Real companies, government agencies, and law enforcement will never ask you to pay with gift cards.
- Lottery scams: Someone tells you that you’ve won something, but you need to send them gift cards to claim your prize.
- Tech support scams: Someone tells you that your account or computer has an issue, and that you must pay them for their help in gift cards.
Tips for staying safe:
- Be skeptical of unexpected gift card requests, especially if they seem urgent.
- Never share gift card links with people you don't trust.
- When in doubt, pause and reach out to On Me Support. We’re here to help 👐
